What do you think about Bar-Sexuals?
Well first, let me tell you what/ who they are. Bar-Sexuals are women who are predominantly heterosexual and go to bars and to gain attention from men, after having a few drinks, they will experiment with each other and do things such as make out or play with each other's breasts to impress and visually stimulate guys at the bar. There was a whole segment on the Tyra Banks show about these self-proclaimed 'Bar-Sexuals'.
hahahahahah! thats really funny that you bring this up because I've been gathering that there's actually a debate about this. The two sides:
ReplyDelete(1) most people, disgusted by this trend, hold that it is pandering for women to objectify themselves at bars, catering to men's base desires instead of satisfying their own sexual desires. The issue is framed as "women dictating their sexuality to please men"
(2) the other side, argued with lower volume, suggests that doing something "to gain attention from men" is not necessarily a bad thing. If, ultimately, a woman enjoys hooking up with other women in bars, regardless of why she enjoys it, why should her behavior be frowned upon?
