Fighting Ignorance with Humor

Sometimes we just have to take a step back and have a good laugh about our misfortunes. This is what this video makes us do in regards to the LGBT community. This is funny clip about gay protest signs. Even if not everything’s going as well as planned we can still have a good laugh about what is being done. Also like the clip’s description reads we can be “Fighting ignorance with humor”.

  1. This was a great reaction to very single-minded people's reactions to homosexuality. My favorite quotes were: "Three words to help the economy: GAY BRIDAL REGISTRY!" , the "Who do you think designed your wedding dress?" and the Liza Minnelli quotes!

  2. I really like the quote at the beginning that "humor is also a way of saying something serious" T.S. Eliot
I think that when humor mocks bigotry, it exposes the bigotry and makes people aware of its illogical and intolerant nature. Humor is so powerful because it is disarming and reduces something to a joke. Mocking intolerance makes it pretty hard to defend it.
