Race Defines Us All

In the first article by Ian F. Haney Lopez, I was introduced to a new way of looking at race and how it defines us. The article showed me that no matter what we do race will always play an important part whether this part can be seem or not. Through the stories in his article Lopez brings up the fact that many of us judge each other just from looking at the color of their skin and their different facial features. He uses Mexicans as an example to show racial formation and the upbringing of Mexican from a nationality to a race during the 1800's. All in all, Lopez explained that deciding race is subject to the opinions of individuals and their communities.
