Free Papers -Aly Fritz
This article forced me to think about all types of society that have ever been isolated, mistreated, or forgotten for some reason out of their control. I was drawn to the quote about the similarity between the physical and anecdotal aspects of history and the way that society hides shameful truths. "The way a society distances itself from physical structures whose purpose is to hide uncomfortable truths or bury undesirable "necessities" mirrors the way narratives of history and justice bury, evade, and marginalize."

Very nice, first post!
ReplyDeleteThis article also made me think about the isolation that goes on and how the perspectives of todays society have created an image of what freedom is and who "deserves" it. The beginning of the article conveys a perspective of the narrator who can connect with the issue of race on a personal level and the desire to speak up.
